The Adventures of Shakes the Rabbit

600 years ago there was a rabbit called Shakes. Shakes liked to go adventuring so planned a plan. It was a cheeky plan, a very very cheeky plan!

So he went out to the forest, he dug a hole, a very big hole.

He climbed into the hole. A big boulder fell on him and he couldn’t get out, so he waited for someone to lift the boulder.

He had been waiting til lunchtime, so he decided to dig his way out.
He ended up in vege land where there were other rabbits munching and crunching on lettuce, tomatoes and a cucumber.

He saw apple trees so he climbed up the tree and he picked up an apple and flew away!

He landed in a prickle bush and he got prickles all over his bottom. After that he sat down on a seat and read a couple of magazines and the newspaper. Then he flew to the moon to see the stars.

2 years ago Shakes the rabbit went into the forest.

And Shakes got lost in the forest.

Then the hunter came along and caught Shakes.

Then this guy came along and caught the hunter.

And this guy helped get Shakes out of the forest.

And they lived happily ever after.

Shakes the rabbit landed in water.

Ruby was very very very sad.

Shakes was in bunny land.

Shakes found some fantastic friends. The best and wonderfulist is Ruby. Shakes is the fluffiest of all of the bunnies.

Ruby loves Shakes the rabbit.

Once there was a rabbit called Shakes. He found a ginormous hole!

It was so ginormous so Shakes looked down and fell down.

And he landed in a wedding cake and someone was going to eat it.

But someone said stop there is a rabbit and you are going to eat it and all the people had a cake fight and the rabbit jumped up and out of the cake.

Shakes the rabbit took one bite of the wedding cake and he went back home.

Then Shakes grew up and told the story to loads of rabbits.

Once there lived a rabbit called Shakes and he was digging a hole when he fell very far down.

He found himself in a brilliant world, it was full of lollies and candy.

Then a storm flew over and he ran into a cave.

Then a dragon came and the dragon ate him up.

He turned up in a different world, there was a house with a garden. It had a winding path with flowers around the path.

Shakes lived in the house and he lived high up in the dragons head.

Ten years ago there was a bunny called Shakes who went down a big hole.

Which led him to a new world.

He went into a jungle and found a tiger. He ran and ran. An elephant fell on the tiger.

The elephant became his friend. They fell down another big hole which led them to another planet.

There was a big hunter and he had a gun. The elephant found a magic pebble which made him grow into a giant elephant and he killed the hunter.
A gang of giant rhinoceroses came and Shakes the rabbit found nine more elephants. The rhinoceros ran but they killed them.

Shakes came back to Ruby. “Shakes” Ruby said and she put him in the cage. She fed him and gave him a hug.

Shakes looked at his Mummy. His mummy was dead.

Then Shakes dived into a hole.

Shakes fell on a guitar.

Then his mum came alive because Shakes missed her! Shakes had a lovely time.

On the 26th of May in the jungle of Noor in the heat of the sun and the cool of the pool, there was a bunny called Shakes.

He was so small he lived in a dust speck.

One day he nearly fell down a waterfall, so an elephant came along and saved Shakes. The rabbit Shakes said “Hi, I am a rabbit”.
“Hi”, said the elephant, “my name is Horton”.

Just then the Wickesen Brothers came and said “talking to a dust speck!” and snatched the dust speck and brought it into our patch of dust specks. “You’ll never find it now!” they said.

“There you are!, it was the dust speck, the first one he picked!
And so they were friends forever.

Then he was going to go for a walk around.

Then he found a cave and he went in. Shakes the rabbit went in the cave and he looked around.

He saw a monster and he tried to run away, but the monster got Shakes the bunny!

Finally Shakes the bunny escaped and lived happily ever after.

It was in the night a robber came and took Shakes and put him in a cage so that he would never run away.

Shakes was worried, what should he do? I wiggled and tried to wriggle, but nothing happened at all. So he just wriggled, he wanted to be free.

That worked!

So never go out at night okay!

So he hopped home, then he was safe again.

A long time ago Shakes the rabbit was in the sun and the trees.

Shakes was very happy. But just then Shakes the rabbit saw a hole.

Shakes thought there was a carrot in the hole. So shakes jumped in!

But instead there was a big big pot of jelly and shakes got stuck in it!

But then Shakes found out that he fell into Candyland.
Shakes was so frightened that he called for help!
His yell echoed across the chocolate river. Just then Shakes heard her mother calling “Shakes Shakes!”

Then she built a bridge made of stone and Shakes went across to mother. Shakes mother said never wander off without mother! But Shakes sadly said I kind of found a hole and I thought there was a carrot in it. So I jumped in and fell and fell and fell. I fell into Candyland and called for your help. But you were not there! (crying) so they went back to the sun and the trees. Shakes said to mother, “Mum can I wander off?” and Shakes mum said “yes..but wait I forgot, Shakes Shakes come back!”
So mum got a carrot and munched on it.

And He landed in some water, then he saw New Zealand and he swam to it.

Then he fell into his cage and lived happily ever after.

Just a few days ago a tiny bunny was born called Shakes.

Shakes fell in a big hole. He fell in a scrumptious plate of jiggly joyful jelly. Shakes said what a joke. Ah it’s slimy stuff. Who can help me? Shakes cried help! But no-one came. Shakes thought and thought of an idea. Shakes the tiny bunny got an idea. Shakes ate the scrumptious jelly. Wobble wobble in Shakes tummy. Ah said Shakes. It wobbled there. It wobbled here. It wobbled everywhere he jumped.

Shakes was wobbling too and turned into a massive giant. Shakes the bunny rabbit was so ominous. Shakes the bunny rabbit fell into a swirling pond and shrunk for a week. By and by a week was gone. Shakes the little bunny rabbit was very normal now. Shakes the fluffy bunny rabbit fell into a really big huge plump of fluffy fluff. Shakes the tiny bunny rabbit was glowing white.

Shakes the tiny bunny rabbit wanted to go home in his snuggly cage. Shakes the tiny little bunny rabbit jumped into a symmetrical mirror in a medium house. Shakes the bunny rabbit could not find his way out of the medium house. But he jumped out of the medium house.

Shakes the tiny little bunny rabbit was cold, sad, cute, wriggly and jiggly. Shakes the fragile tiny little bunny rabbit was tired so Shakes the fragile, little, tiny bunny rabbit had a big rest. Shakes dreamt of a giant and found himself in a different world.

Shakes went back through the jungle and slept in his cage.

Just a few days ago Shakes was eating his favourite meal when his owner (Ruby Burr) took him for a walk.

But the door of his cage had been left open by mistake. Shakes fell out of his cage into a wishing well.

He sunk to the bottom of the wishing well because he couldn’t swim. As soon as he reached the bottom there was no water just sand.

Then he wished for something and Shakes said his wish “I wish I had a jumbo jet” and shakes saw something very new.

Shakes saw his huge jumbo jet and the plane wasn’t any old jet the giant jet plane was a rabbit jumbo jet. Shakes knew the jet plane was his own.

Soon shakes was flying with heaps of cute rabbits on board and Shakes was the best rabbit pilot ever. After three days the rabbits landed in the Catlins where the cowboys lived.

All the cute rabbits (including Shakes) soon were great horse riders. Their leader was the awesome Shakes.

Now when you see a cute rabbit riding a horse in the Catlins you will know that’s Shakes the awesome rabbit.

Just a few days ago Shakes was digging in a garden when he found he was in a different world with lots of dinosaurs.

The dinosaurs chased him but because he was a rabbit he jumped the fence and got away and his life was safe. Shakes was saved because he was brave and fast.

When he got in the jungle Shakes found his owner going for a walk in the jungle.

Shakes saw Ruby and she picked him up and carried him all the way home.

When they got home Shakes had a play and he played until bedtime. Night, night little rabbit.

That was the end of Shakes the rabbit.

Heaps and heaps and heaps of years ago Shakes was climbing up a tree and he found a hole with a squirrel in it.

He could see a volcano in the trees. It was going to rumble and stop the animals and catch them. Shakes could see the fire and he could hear the fire. He did not know what to do but then he knew what to do. There were more animals who lived by the volcano.

Shakes had to go and save the animals he went over there to tell the animals, he did that, they ran away as fast as they could. Then they were saved.

Shakes played with them all day and all night. They never went to sleep they just played together every day.

When it was dark they didn’t know it was bedtime. They couldn’t see anything so they went to bed.

And that was the end of Shakes the rabbit and Ruby the owner.

On the rocks of Stewart Island Shakes was gold mining happily.

When suddenly he slipped and fell in the water. He climbed up on a piece of seaweed.

Shakes made a surf board.

He fell off onto a giant sandwich, and he ate it!
Then he fell in Holly’s hair.

Shakes swam out. Just then he was a wonderful hippo. Then he turned into a butterfly.

Next he was a rabbit, a fantastic rabbit. Then he fell underwater. Shakes made a lot of friends and then he flew to America.

In 50509 Shakes a rabbit was bouncing on a trampoline in the garden, when he fell off and hit the ground on his bottom! He hit the ground so hard it made a hole! Shakes fell into the hole.

Shakes found himself in a completely different world. There were funny, cool machines and lots of rabbits. Shakes thought to himself in a fragile thought.

Shakes saw a satellite, he went to see what it was then the satellite caught him. The satellite changed Shakes into something different.

Then he went into a different satellite, it put Shakes into a different world that looked familiar.

Shakes loved this world because he was in his own world.

He hopped inside and he was really happy for the rest of his life and never dug a hole ever again.

Six days ago Shakes the rabbit was digging in the back yard.

Suddenly!, the hole got so big he fell in. he struggled to get out.

Soon he found a different world. Shakes thought for a minute. I’m lost. He walked around the world. He was so sad that he lost his home he lost his owner. He looked ahead. That’s funny, that’s a upside down plane!

This is a very strange world. Look over there said shakes. There’s a cream pie.

At his home Ruby found the hole that Shakes dug. She even found the door! She saw a fluffy little thing. Its Shakes she said.

She picked him up and gave him a hug. Ruby and Shakes went on the upside down plane that was pretty funny.

So they went home. When they got home everything was back to normal.

Once there was a rabbit called Shakes.

One day Shakes managed to get out of his cage!
His owner Ruby didn’t see. He went and dug a hole in the back yard.

When Shakes had finished he was very tired so he went to sleep. When he woke up he found himself in a completely different world!

Shakes liked his new home but his missed his owner. The other rabbits said “cheer up and come and play with us”!
Shakes didn’t cheer up but all the same he did go and play with them.
He did not know but they were bad mannered bunnies!

Day after day, Shakes stayed and got more and more bad mannered. Until one day Ruby saw a rumpled patch of earth and dug it up.

Guess what? It was the patch where Shakes had been digging! So she got Shakes out and put him back in his cage. From then onwards Shakes never ever tried to get out of his cage again!
